Pre-order a package of bees now for the 2025 Spring beekeeping season. Bees are for pick up only. We do not ship bees. Pickup Date: To Be Determined (April 2025, possibly on a Wednesday between 10am - 1pm. Keep this in mind when placing your order). We will send out an e-mail around the beginning of April 2025 so you can schedule your pick up time.
One of the preferred ways to start a bee colony is with a package of bees. A package consists of approximately three pounds of bees in a wooden box with screens on two sides. Inside the box, there will be a can of sugar syrup and a small cage containing a mated queen hanging by a metal tab. Here, the queen is able to be cared for by nurse bees until the package is ready to be installed inside of a hive box. We suggest that you hive the package of bees just before dusk on the day you pick them up from us.

We hope that you understand, bees are live animals and are provided “as is” without any warranties. We cannot issue refunds once the bees have left our property. In the rare event, you find your queen bee is dead upon opening your package of bees, please contact The Valley Hive immediately so we can help you.

Orders for packages of bees and nucs of bees may be canceled and refunded for a $50 restocking/cancellation fee, until March 31, 2025.

There will be no refund if you need to cancel your order starting April 1, 2025. Your payment will be forfeited. If bees are not picked up on the scheduled pick up day, your funds will be forfeited.

Bee pick up day will be scheduled for a day in April 2025 at The Valley Hive in Chatsworth. As soon as we have an exact day, we will communicate via email with a pick up date and times. We do our best to keep customers updated as to the arrival date. However, typically we do not know the exact date until a few weeks beforehand. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the arrival date of bees may change. In the past, package pick up day has been on a Wednesday (10am to 1pm), and we hope to schedule it this way again for April 2025. Keep this in mind when placing your order. If bees are not picked up on the scheduled day, your funds will be forfeited.
